If you have seen the flurry of press from fashion bloggers, magazines and newspapers about Richard Nicoll, you will know he was in Hong Kong just last week to promote his latest Resort Collection. Rest assured that I too had the privilege of interviewing the man, who was at once charming and delightfully down-to-earth. The interview was conducted as part of my job at AnyWearStyle, which I will link and announce on this blog once the site is up! As a result of this opportunity amongst others, I had the chance to meet some of Hong Kong’s top fashion english bloggerati, and made aware of many more… So without further ado, I present to you…
Geneva has had her roots in Australia and the UK, but is currently living in Hong Kong and blogging about her experiences so far. Her blog has a heavy emphasis on DIY subjects, but also provides easy and approachable advice on shopping from a western perspective. I first stumbled on her blog, when looking for wholesale material in Hong Kong, and her post on Sham Shui Po really nailed the topic!
2. Butterboom
Butterboom is the first place I frequent when looking for all fashion-related news in Hong Kong. The strength of this website is the sheer quantity of content they produce, which inevitably covers almost every topic I need to look up on. When meeting Pannee, the founder of Popcorn Media Network for the first time and discovering that she works at Butterboom, you can imagine my whole face brightening up at finally connecting a person to the blog!
This blog is run by the lively and affable Jasmine! Meeting her first on twitter, we later met up for drinks during a Hong Kong Fashion Bloggers meet up that she organized. Jasmine does fashion styling on the side, and her blog has a diversity of quirky blog posts. Needless to say, we each had a lot to say about the last Hong Kong fashion week…
4. How I Met Your Style (HIMYS)
Carmen is the photographer behind HIMYS, a professionally curated blog where design and function meld together beautifully like Moet & Chandon. The blog focusses on the homes of fashion bloggers, believing that the setting in which bloggers create content is just as exciting as the content in itself… Although most of the bloggers showcased so far are from America, let’s hope to see more asian bloggers as Carmen has recently moved to Hong Kong!
5. Sam Is Home
Sam’s blog has a beautiful minimalism to it, that is simultaneously calming and almost nostalgic. The simplicity behind her photography creates an easy visual storyline to follow. She has also been featured on Chictopia, and absolutely wowed me when she told me she read my blog from beginning to end. Needless to say it has given me boundless inspiration to keep blogging!
6. SUPERWOWOMG
Denise is a vivacious blogger with an infectious bubble of energy! Blogging part time and telling me about how much work it is on the side of a full-time job as a graphic designer, I only have admiration for someone like Denise. The blog’s design (as expected) matches her personality, with its zany font, color palette and “eye-catching” title.
Tania operates this T Like Bubble Tea, documenting not only her adventures in Hong Kong but other countries as well! Meeting her for the first time in a beautiful, her blog has a noticeable European feel (despite the reference to Bubble Tea in the blog name!) and at times comes across as an exciting travel diary with recent posts to Mongolia and Lisboa!
Sybil, the blogger behind The Style Voyager, was my better half during our interview with Richard Nicoll. Needless to say, her polite and sensible questions to Richard greatly contrasted against my sillier ones… Her poised sense of style when meeting her in person translated fluidly on camera, as you will see in her blog posts!
Run by JJ, The Wanderlister is essentially a blog version of Wallpaper* Magazine, with a focus on design (architecture, interior design, fashion etc) rolled into one! After reading everything else fashion-related, this blog is a breath of fresh air, and helps us realize that fashion is indeed part of the design industry at large: an idea recently advocated for by Business of Fashion’s Imran Amed.

Blogging is indeed a solitary experience. But it doesn’t...to be. Like i’ve re-iterated...
